Family Fun Day

Family Fun Day is an annual event held on the Saturday of Father's Day Weekend at the Dockstader fields on 147. It features games and activities for the whole family, demonstrations by some of our programs, displays from our local first responders, and food.

We're always looking for volunteers to help grow this annual event.

Recreation Soccer

Recreation Soccer is offered in the spring and fall. The program is 5 weeks in the spring and 6 weeks in the fall. It intoduces the game of soccer, learning basics skills through games and finishing each session with small sided games to increase the contact each player has with the ball. Pre-k and K is held on Saturday mornings. 1st and 2nd grade train and play on Saturday mornings and Wednesday evenings. 3rd through 6th grade train and play on Saturday mornings and Monday evenings.

New for Spring 2025

We're offering for all in 7th-12th grade pickup games on Saturdays from 11 AM to 12:30PM

Karate

Karate has been offered in the Galway community since 1972 and is open to all ages 5 and up. It is our only program that goes all year. During the school year classes are Tuesday and Thursday evenings in the high school cafeteria at 7 PM. During the summer months classes are held outdoors, weather permitting on Tuesdays and Thursdays. New students can join at any time. Martial arts has a proven record of safety, compared to other sport activities, and can be practiced for a lifetime. Students develop flexibility and agility that helps them perform better in other sports. They also develop discpline, respect, and humility. Martial arts training is also know to help students perform better in school and adults  perform better at work. Students are also afforded the opportunity to perform in demonstrations, participate in seminars, and compete in local and regional competitions.

Basketball

Basketball is offered in the late fall and early winter each year for those in 1st through sixth grade. They learn the basic skills of basketball and how to work as a member of a team.

Pee Wee Wrestling

Pee Wee Wrestling is for those in 1st throgh 6th grade. They learn the fundamentals of wrestling and get to compete in local competitions. They train on Monday and Wednesday evenings in the wrestling training room.

Summer Recreation

Summer Recreation is an 8-10 day program held in July and August. Participants enjoy a variety of recreational and athletic activities as well as arts and crafts.

Junior Rifle Club

Junior Rifle Club is for those interested in learning about firearm use, safety, and care. There is a minimum age to participate. Participants can compete in local and regional competitons and qualify for national and international competitions.

Skiing

Our Skiing program provides a limited number of youth ski passes to nearby Royal Mountain.

Swimming

Swimming is avilable each year for a limited period at the Glenville YMCA.
